If you travel for food, this blog post is for you. People who know me, know that I'm a super picky eater when it comes to trying out different cuisines. But it gets worse when it comes to seafood! Being a Bengali by native, seafood is supposed to run in our blood - just not mine! But what's the point of coming to Thailand without getting to try some authentic local cuisine? Curse me for having stuck to pizza in a few restaurants but they were made in their own native style and yes - the dream is to try varieties of pizzas in every country I visit! Everywhere you look while walking around the city, you’ll be tempted by something delicious - whether it be fresh green papaya salad, a spice-filled coconut milk curry, or smoke pouring off a street food grill. I still remember wandering on random streets around our hotel in Bangkok, and there was always a mixed smell that left you wondering where it was coming from! Walking down the street, the aroma of stir-frying chilies, garlic, and basil, mixed with the thick humidity of the Bangkok evening, was a combination that switched on my senses, and I immediately became fascinated by Thai food culture. And oh lord, did the food look amazing - it immediately turns off your hygiene switch and centers your focus on getting to taste it one way or the other. Listing some of my favorite foods from my Thailand trip.
Airport Munchies
Thailand has a known trait of making anything look cute. Including food. They tend to come in the most adorable packaging and you just can't resist getting your hands on them. These were some of my on-the-go flight munchies at the Don Mueang International Airport.
Ancora Blu Bistro & Bar
This was a cute little boutique hotel right on the streets of Ao Nang in Krabi. It's awfully close to the beach and even had live music! They mostly served Thai, Seafood, Asian cuisine, and also had vegan options. The presentation of the food was impressive, and even better was the taste!

Tandoori Nights
This was another place we tried out in Krabi, called Tandoori Nights. They served local cuisine, Indian, Thai, and Halal. The most unique thing I tried here was the pizza which had the base of naan. It tasted absolutely delish and now it makes me wonder why aren't more naan-based pizzas being made?!

The Japanese Restaurant with the most epic food
I tried my best to look close into the above picture to find the name of this place!
Well, I don't seem to remember what this place was called so we're going to be calling it as "The Japanese Restaurant with the most epic food" - because the food was that good! This place was based in Bangkok. Shrimps, Fish, Chicken of the juiciest variety were served that did not disappoint! I for one ended up trying a lot more new things out of my comfort zone just because the presentation was that appealing! I remember this place was super pocket-friendly and delish to the max!
Must-try Beer in Thailand
You get this pretty much everywhere!
Last but not the least, the most epic, mouthwatering, and SIMPLE dish I tried out in Thailand was at a food court in MBK mall. I don't remember the name of the place, but I do remember the face of the serving lady who cut the finest pieces of chicken on some plain rice and handed me over this mysterious dish with 2 different sauces and a bowl of the purest soup in the world!!! Voila!
Now you're going to be thinking - but Sanjana, this looks so basic. That's right, the most beautiful basic dish in the whole world whose plate I licked CLEAN. If you ever visit this food court and try it out, thank me. I for one will definitely hunt this place down the next time I'm here!
